We had a lot of laugh when we shot Har and Nia’s pre-wed photos, ^_^ A number of our Indio friends were also there participating, so no wonder it wasn’t even close to feeling like work. ^_^

The wedding day, though more serious, wasn’t that much different. It felt like shooting photos of your friends, rather than carrying out a project for clients. A breeze. ^_^ I wish all of our projects were like this one. Well, a person can hope, right? ^_^

This one was long overdue, ^_^

Peter and Yenny have been quite famous among our fans for their pre-wedding pictures taken last year, which summed up fun and romantic in one album. So it’s no surprise that people had been wanting to see their wedding pics uploaded.

Just like the pre-wedding sessions, the wedding day was filled with laughters, and funny faces (see the church couple shot with the funny faces, ^_^). All in all, the pictures were my reward for the very long and tiring day.

We’re switching gear this month, as the theme calls for elegance and thus, darkness (in studio lighting, ^_^) had to be called upon.

Though we were so lucky that Bibliotheque was available for the photo session (the place is simply drop dead gorgeous), it really challenged us in terms of getting the perfect lighting set up to accurately illuminate the subject without sacrificing the subdued ambiance.

Good for us, the talent, Kennova Prawesty, was so versed in posing (not to mention the gal’s superbly professional) that we literally didn’t waste a breath in managing her,^_^

It had been more than a decade since I last visited Surabaya, and Surabaya stopped at nothing to surprise ^_^ To say the least, I was dumbfounded, not realizing Surabaya is the 2nd largest city in Indonesia. Huge malls, luxurious housings, tall buildings, good food, and yes, crazy traffic jams, lined up in front of me.

But, I probably would’ve never visited Surabaya, if not for Rudy and Yaya’s wedding. In fact, even if we hadn’t been asked to cover their wedding, we would’ve flown in anyway. As I really really wanted to see where the two got their kindness, sense of humility, and warmth.

And it’s so apparent. From daybreak till close to midnight (yes, you read right), not once we were treated as vendors. The two families were so nice and welcoming that I truly felt sad the day had to end.

Yaya is now several months into her pregnancy. In 20-something years, he/she will be getting married. And there’ll be a young wedding photographer who’ll share the same experience as I did. I can only wish I can be there as well.

April’s theme is comfort in living, hence we chose a model who can fit nicely into the role and a house that screams “comfort”, ^_^

Lucky for us, Andy Luhur, the owner of the magazine, has a house perfect for the purpose, perfect to the T. And Joji, the talent, really performed above par, a true sense of professionalism. Really wish every session could be as easy as this one. ^_^

What makes a good person? Their background? Appearance? Behavior ? Words they utter? Actions they take?

I don’t normally go on a “fun” shooting trip, as the weekly photography projects as they are now, are already taking up so much of my time. But when Ron (one of our all time fave clients, ^_^) asked me to come along on this session, I was in need of a break, so I went.

I was so glad I said yes to Ron. I now know what makes a good person to photographers: a couple that’s (even though you just met) so friendly and nice that you’d have so much fun photographing them.
