It had been more than a decade since I last visited Surabaya, and Surabaya stopped at nothing to surprise ^_^ To say the least, I was dumbfounded, not realizing Surabaya is the 2nd largest city in Indonesia. Huge malls, luxurious housings, tall buildings, good food, and yes, crazy traffic jams, lined up in front of me.
But, I probably would’ve never visited Surabaya, if not for Rudy and Yaya’s wedding. In fact, even if we hadn’t been asked to cover their wedding, we would’ve flown in anyway. As I really really wanted to see where the two got their kindness, sense of humility, and warmth.
And it’s so apparent. From daybreak till close to midnight (yes, you read right), not once we were treated as vendors. The two families were so nice and welcoming that I truly felt sad the day had to end.
Yaya is now several months into her pregnancy. In 20-something years, he/she will be getting married. And there’ll be a young wedding photographer who’ll share the same experience as I did. I can only wish I can be there as well.
Cheers,
Although we were approaching the end of the wedding season, I was really really looking forward to this wedding. Ronald and Diana had become more than *just* clients to us , they now were a part of our extended Indio family, ^_^ So the day went so smooth; the families were so nice to us, the friends as well.
(Heck, even the dog, whom I hadn’t met before, was nice, ^_^) Hence, big smiles and laughter filled the day, and some happy tears (yes Ron, I meant you, ^_^). All in all, what a way to book-end the wedding season. See you around guys. Cheers

The day was just so smooth, so easy, so fluid. I honestly was very worried starting the day, as there were 2 different group of photographers covering the wedding. Would I get the shots? Would I be able to control the outcome? But things turned out OK; well, more than OK, ^_^ Things turned out great!
We got the chemistry going well with James and Fency, and the rest of the family and friends as smiles, jokes, laughters – and some happy tears – filled the day.
James and Fency, congrats once again. Hope these pics can bring smile on this rainy day, ^_^
Oh no, early in the day, I couldn’t get Welly to laugh. He’s so tensed, so focused on getting the day perfect that he forgot how to laugh..
Oh no, I couldn’t get Yanita to stop laughing.. Aha! ^_^ Just mix those two, and Welly is bound to laugh, I thought..
And boy oh boy, was I ever more glad that I was right, ^_^
Definitely one of the most laughter-filled weddings I covered. Not just the clients that got all the laugh, the crew had so much fun working with WeddingClip. Ian and Elvira, pleasure to work with you guys.
Welly and Yen2, here’s to a zillion years to come.
With the so much fun we had during the prewedding session, I was heartbroken when I found out that I couldn’t be around to photograph Johanes and Juliana’s Wedding. ^_^
However, looking at the pictures that Rudy (my cousin and partner-in-crime ^_^) took, I realized that they were in good hands. Rudy kept it fun and lively, not missing a beat, not missing a moment. Darn good job, I must say.
Johanes and Juliana, congrats!
It was kinda funny seeing Poppy on her big day, as her focus was not entirely on herself, to say the least, ^_^ Poppy was so nice that she more concerned about the people around her, a lot more than herself. ^_^
Jimmy was all smile all day, naturally. He was marrying his best friend, the love of his life. If you had met Jimmy before, you’d know he wasn’t the most expressive guy around, so you could tell that there’s no nerve present that day. Just abundant happiness. And that, made me smile on the inside, ^_^
What amazed me the most was how nice the two families were! I could easily feel the love, respect, and adoration surrounding the day. Even when things didn’t go according to plan, not a single hint of frustration was felt! It easily was one of the happiest and most laid back weddings I ever shot. ^_^
Here’s to Andy, Nathalia, and your loved ones. May you two be blessed with everlasting happiness, love, health and wealth! Cheers!

Three words: FUN! FUN! FUN! ^_^
The whole family was really a joy to be around. My team was very overwhelmed by the hospitality, kindness, and the sense of abundant joy projected by everyone in the family.
Despite all the laughter, emotion still runs very deep, as shown in some pictures taken that day. I really was glad they let me be a part of the special day.
Irvan and Evelyn, congrats to you guys once again!

The wedding day came. I had zero sleep as we also were covering the Midodareni the night before and had to ensure that all files are securely backed up.
However, the day went so smooth I didn’t feel the fatigue. In fact, we managed to set the tone and got a lot of fun out of the day.
The pictures are the proof, ^_^
